Ikari Warriors - Atari 7800
Now we're talking. I loved this game in the arcades as a kid, and I seem to remember being hugely disappointed by the version I ended up with, which might have been a Commodore 16 / +4 conversion (shudder). If I'd had this - assuming I'd had a 7800 back then and not a 2600, which wasn't the case but never mind - I'd have been a whole lot happier.
This is an awesome conversion, for one or two players. Everything seems to be here, including the intro with the airplane coming down in the jungle. For those who don't know, you control a Rambo clone whose mission in life is to scroll slowly up the screen annihilating what looks like most of the population of a small country with machine gun and hand grenades. You can jump in the odd tank too, and lay waste to all and sundry. Blow up a tank or a building, and you can often start glorious chain reactions of doom and destruction - I just wish the animation for a shot bad guy was something other than them twirling round in a lame fashion, because it often makes it hard to tell who's dead and who isn't amongst all the carnage.
The screen is often swarming with bad guys, with little to no slowdown. This is a hard game to get hold of, but if you see it up for grabs...uh....grab it.
