Food Fight - Atari 7800

Without a doubt, one of the best games I've ever had the pleasure to own. You have exactly 32 seconds to run from the right to the left of the screen and eat an ice-cream, while avoiding four chefs that rise out of manholes and throw bananas and tomatoes at you.

Hey, nobody said it was going to make much sense.

If you're not particularly into high scores, well then good news - when you lose all your lives, you can reset the game and restart from the last level you reached (I think I'm up to about level 43 now). The more food you throw at the chefs, the lower your bonus points, but it's more important to grab the ice-cream before it melts anyway.

Some oddness - why did they choose to have you run from right to left? No idea. Maybe they thought it would be too easy if you went from left to right? Also, some levels are auto-generated in a way that leaves you no chance of completing them (starting off surrounded by three chefs with no food nearby is never good, and you might as well just hit reset and be done with it).

None of the above really makes much difference to gameplay though, and the bizarre "action replays" of your antics are the icing on the cake. Aha-ha.

Score: 5/5
