Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story - Atari Jaguar

I have this game on both the Jaguar and the SNES, and although I haven't played the SNES version for a long time this one seems to be missing quite a few things, even if the graphics are a little better. Most importantly, there don't seem to be any story related cut-scenes. Considering this game is based on the movie of the same name, that's quite an important omission as the gamer has no clue what's going on. Other than the odd screen popping up saying "Hong Kong, 1971" (or whatever) inbetween fights, one minute you're fighting a guy in a ballroom (why? doesn't say), the next, you're fighting with cleaver wielding chefs in an alley (why? no idea)...and so on.

Plus, the fights here drag on forever. You can punch and kick and punch some more, but the health meters drain so.......very............slowly. Add to that you having some of your moves distributed across the numberpad keys on the Jaguar controller - an impossibly useless controller scheme for a game like this, unless you have fifteen detachable fingers - and it all comes to a crashing halt very quickly.

Fun for about five minutes, but you're better off just playing the SNES version which is actually a lot more fun than this.

Score: 2/5
