Choplifter! - Atari 7800

I'd love to say a game where you fly across a warzone, blow up buildings and rescue hostages is a fun time for all. However, that just isn't the case here. Bland landscapes are the setting for a frustrating experience where you're constantly ambushed by magically appearing tanks, just as you're starting to herd in the rescued prisoners into your helicopter. The controls are awkward and you only seem to shoot at the tanks if you fly diagonally down towards them in a kamikaze attack, which (more often than not) results in you being blown to pieces.

If there's more to this game than repeating the same pattern of weaving from side to side like a drunk, then swearing profusely as you're ambushed by the magic-a-tanks (TM) time and time again then I'm not seeing it. All in all, not the best game around.
